CTC205 – Case a Birthday Card and give it a Christmas Twist
Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week our inspiration is to take any Birthday card and give it a Christmas Twist. You may be starting with me or you may have arrived from Simone’s gorgeous creation. Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
The choices were endless but I finally narrowed it down to the “Best Wishes” card on page 146 of the Annual Catalogue.
Here’s a closer look at the card I used as my starting off point, you may have to use plenty of imagination as the finished product looks nothing like this.
I love using Night of Navy for Christmas cards so that’s where I started.
I’ve embossed a Whisper White piece of card stock with the Swirls & Curls embossing folder then adhered it to my Night of Navy card base. I’ve coloured some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with my Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend, it looks so sparkly in real life.
The word “Merry” has been die cut with the Merry Christmas Thinlits. First I used my Aqua Painter with Blueberry Bushel, Pacific Point and Night of Navy ink on a piece of Shimmer White card stock. Do you like the variation in colour?
I’ve fussy cut some leaves from the Peaceful Noel stamp set and punched out some Night of Navy sprigs with the Sprig Punch. The word “Christmas” is from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set.
My assistant, Marvi, was not really interested in my card this week. Although he did pose for a photo.
Next up tonight is Fi’s beautiful project. Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.
