CTC274 – Case a Masculine Card
Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you’ve been keeping warm this week. The temperature has been very cool at night and early mornings here in Queensland. It’s easy to find the warmest spot in the house, just find Marvi. Cats have a knack of finding warm spots.
This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing any masculine card in the Annual Catalogue. Coming up with masculine card designs can be challenging but our catalogue is full of wonderful inspiration. You may have hopped over from Rachel’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve chosen a card on page 128 of the Annual Catalogue which uses the Waterfront stamp set. I’ve had this set for a while but have not used it very much at all. I find it a bit daunting to “build” a scenery card but I’m really happy with how the card turned out.
I’ve kept fairly close to the original colours and design, adding a couple more layers of card stock and centering my image.
The card base is Pretty Peacock with a layer of Whisper White. I’ve added another layer of Pretty Peacock that’s been embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve inked up the inside of this embossing folder with Gorgeous Grape then embossed another piece of Whisper White. How cool does that look?
I’ve used some Shimmery White card stock and created the sky with Night of Navy, Gorgeous Grape and Rococo Rose and my Aqua Painter. The mountains are stamped in Pretty Peacock, the land in Early Espresso, the water in Night of Navy and the trees in Memento Black. The sun is stamped in Whisper White then I’ve flicked the end of my Aqua Painter to create the “stars”.
Mr Marvi was “helping” me in my craft room while I was making this card. So it took twice as long to complete. Who can say no to that face?
It’s time to hop over and see Monique’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Thanks for stopping by.
