CTC346 – Case A Non Christmas Card and Give It A Christmas Twist
Hello and welcome to my blog. Can you believe it’s only 4 weeks until Christmas? Have you made all your Christmas cards yet? If you haven’t, you might get some Christmas inspiration from this weeks CASEing the Catty blog hop. We are CASEing a non Christmas project from either catalogue and giving it a Christmas twist.
You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.
I’ve chosen to CASE the “You Have Been On My Mind” card, in the top left hand corner of page 51 of the Annual Catalogue.
I’ve kept very close to the layout but changed the colours, which is what CASEing is all about.
My card base is Basic Black with a layer of Smoky Slate. I’ve embossed the Smoky Slate card stock with the Hammered Metal embossing folder and torn the bottom edge, just like the sample card. I’ve added some Tidings of Christmas DSP and die cut a Christmas tree using the 2021-2023 In Colour Shimmer Vellum.
I’ve stamped the Deer, from the Peaceful Deer stamp set, directly onto some White Velvet Sheet then used the co-ordinating Deer Builder Punch to punch it out. This velvet is a retired product from a couple of Christmases ago but there are Snowy White Velvet Sheets in the current Mini Catalogue which would work well. The deer’s antlers are punched from some Black Glitter Paper. The sentiment is from the Merriest Moments stamp set and is white heat embossed. I’ve also added some Soft Succulent 3/8″ Open Weave Ribbon.
I think this look on Marvi’s face was saying “what do you mean you stamped then used a punch on velvet, can you really do that?”.
It’s time to hop over and see Julia’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
