Hello and welcome to my blog. Happy Easter everyone, I hope you’ve been able to spend some quality time with your family and friends over the easter break. I had a family BBQ at my parents house, even though it was raining we managed to stay dry and enjoy the day.
This week at CASEing the Catty we are using our favourite retiring dies. If you’re anything like me you’ll look at your dies and think “maybe I didn’t use this die set enough” before it retired.
You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’m using the Detailed Bands Die set, which has seen very little use since it’s been in my craft room. Which is crazy because these die cuts work perfectly layered together or simply on their own. I’ve used the card on page 113 of the Annual Catty as my inspiration but my card took on a life of it’s own and may not look much like the sample card on the far left of the graphic below.
I’ve changed the colours but sort of kept to a similar layout. Instead of creating a background with Stampin’ Blends I’ve used In good Taste DSP and I’ve stamped the flowers from the co-ordinating stamp set, Band Together, straight onto the DSP.
My card base is Gray Granite followed by a layer of Whisper White. I’ve layered a couple of the Detailed Bands Dies over the top of one another and added in some Basic Black die cut leaves.
The sentiment is from the Band Together stamp set and I’ve added some Basic Rhinestones for some bling.
Marvi was posing nicely this week but after I took this pic…………….
He decided he needed to see how the card tastes. If you receive this card from me in the mail, I’m sorry, it has a couple of teeth marks in it.
It’s time to hop over and see Tina’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
oooh! So pretty! The layering on your card is gorgeous! The colours are wonderful, and I love the stamping on the DSP.
Great mix on this card Peta. Flowers stamped on the wood grain are eye catching.❤️
Love the use of dimension on this card and the neutral colour palette. The Marvi touch is perfection lol!!
Naughty Marvi for biting such a lovely card! I love the double layers of the banners.
Great layout and these colours are gorgeous. And so elegant.
