Hello and welcome to my blog. It’s been a very busy day here today with Father’s Day, my younger sister’s Birthday and it’s also the first day of Spring. Spring has welcomed us with a 33 degree day, it feels more like goodbye winter and hello summer.
This week we’re CASEing a Watercolour Technique. There’s so many different samples of watercolouring in our Annual Catalogue, what’s your favourite technique?
You may have hopped over from Andrea’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.
I’ve used the “Happy Anniversary” card on page 57 for my inspiration. Oh, did I mention yesterday was my parent’s 61st Wedding Anniversary, what a busy weekend.
The sample card uses the Layers of Beauty Bundle however I’ve used the Enduring Beauty Bundle.
My card base is Thick Basic White followed by a layer of Soft Sea Foam. I’ve added another layer of Basic White which has been embossed with the new Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve White Heat Embossed the large flower image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set then used the co-ordinating masks to watercolor in Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop, Old Olive and Garden Green ink. I may have added too much water as some of the colours blended together while using the masks but I think it adds an interesting effect. I have touched up a few places after finishing with the masks.
I’ve cut the large flower image into two pieces then added a few Garden Green leaves behind them. I’ve added some Iridescent 1/2″ Striped Ribbon behind the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set.
Marvi didn’t look all that impressed with my card this week however I love how it turned out. And look at me using pink tones two weeks in a row, I’m really not a pink girl.
I’m last on the hop this week so if you didn’t start at the beginning of the hop just click on the next button below and it will take you back to the start to Rebecca’s wonderful creation.
We’d love for you to join our challenge. Click below and send us a request to join then just upload your new creation to the wall.

A delightful card Peta. Such a clever idea to watercolour through the masks – I must give it a go. Love your colour combo. Bubble Bath is gorgeous with Petunia Pop. Love your leaves too. Great layering. xxx
sooooo pretty and the watercolouring is glorious!! Love all the texture!
